What Is Tamizha Jobs? Local Jobs Across Tamil Nadu, Explained

Tamizha Jobs is a Tamil Nadu job portal that lists local jobs district by district. Job seekers apply free; employers post jobs for the districts they hire in.

Most jobs in Tamil Nadu are local. A textile unit in Tiruppur needs machine operators, a showroom in Thanjavur needs sales staff, a transport company in Salem needs drivers. The people who would take those jobs often hear about them only by word of mouth, and small employers rarely have an easy way to reach job seekers in their own district.

Tamizha Jobs is built around that idea: a job portal organised by the place you live and work. This page explains what it is, how it works for job seekers and for employers, and what it costs.

What is Tamizha Jobs?

Tamizha Jobs is a job portal for Tamil Nadu. Every job on it is tied to a district, so you can open the page for your district and see what is open near you, for example jobs in Chennai, jobs in Coimbatore or jobs in Madurai.

It works in two places:

  • The website, tamizhajobs.com, where anyone can browse and apply without installing anything.
  • The Android app, which adds a personalised job feed, a list of Tamil Nadu government job notifications, and notifications about new jobs.

The listings are mostly local, everyday jobs: drivers, telecallers, sales executives, delivery staff, accountants, office assistants, shop staff, cooks and similar roles. Employers can mark each job as full time, part time or an internship, and as onsite or remote.

Who is Tamizha Jobs for?

It is for two groups of people.

Job seekers who want work close to home. You might be a fresher looking for a first job, someone returning to work, or an experienced worker who wants to move to a better-paying job in the same town.

Employers who hire locally. That includes shops, clinics, schools, small factories, agencies and offices that need staff from their own district and do not want to pay a recruitment agency for every hire.

How does it work for job seekers?

On the website, the quickest route is to open your district page or use the job search. Each job page shows the role, the employer, the place, the job type, when it was posted and, if the employer gave one, the salary.

When you find a job you like, tap Apply now. On the website you fill in a short quick-apply form with your name, age, gender, district and phone number. You do not have to sign up before applying, and it takes under a minute. The employer then sees your application and can contact you on the number you gave.

The Android app works a little differently:

  1. You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password (OTP). There is no password to remember.
  2. You choose Tamil or English. You can switch language later from the toggle at the top of most screens.
  3. Your job feed starts with jobs near your home district and the locations you said you prefer. You can filter by district, job type (full time, part time, internship), onsite or remote, and jobs that match your education.
  4. You apply from the job page and can follow each application's status in the app: pending, accepted or rejected.

There is a step-by-step guide in How to find a job near you in Tamil Nadu.

Does it cost anything to apply?

No. Searching and applying for jobs on Tamizha Jobs is free. No genuine employer should ask you for money to give you a job, and you should never pay anyone a "registration fee" or "processing fee" for a job you found here. If someone asks, please tell us.

How does it work for employers?

An employer signs in with a phone number, the same OTP sign-in that job seekers use, and posts a job. A job post includes:

  • the job title and a short description
  • the city or area, and one or more districts (or all of Tamil Nadu)
  • full time, part time or internship, and onsite or remote
  • the salary, as a fixed amount or a range
  • optionally, a preferred qualification, the skills you want, and an age range or gender if the role genuinely needs it

Once the job is live, applicants show up in your account. You can open each applicant's profile, accept or reject them, and call or WhatsApp them directly from the app. When a job reaches the end of its listing period it expires, and you can renew it if you are still hiring.

At the time of writing (October 2026), posting a job on Tamizha Jobs is free. If paid listing plans are switched on in future, you will see the plan and its price before you publish. Our guide on how to hire staff in your district covers how to write a job post that gets good applicants.

What are the "Govt Jobs" in the app?

The Android app has a Local Jobs / Govt Jobs switch at the top of the job feed. Govt Jobs lists Tamil Nadu government recruitment notifications. For each one you can see the recruiting board, the department, the number of vacancies, the pay scale, the qualification, the age limit, the application fee, the notification date and the last date to apply. A badge shows how many days are left.

These are listings only. You apply on the official government website, using the Apply on Official Website button, not inside Tamizha Jobs. Read more in How to track Tamil Nadu government job notifications.

Which districts does Tamizha Jobs cover?

Employers can post jobs for any of Tamil Nadu's 38 districts, and the website has a page for each one. How many jobs a district has depends on how many local employers are hiring there at the moment. Right now the busiest pages include Chennai, Thanjavur, Coimbatore, Madurai and Tiruchirappalli. If your district has only a few listings today, check back, or turn on notifications in the app.

How is Tamizha Jobs different from a national job site?

Large national portals are built around cities, corporate roles and long CVs. Tamizha Jobs is built for local hiring in Tamil Nadu:

  • Jobs are organised by district, not by metro city.
  • The app works fully in Tamil as well as English.
  • Applying on the website needs only basic details and a phone number, so people without a CV can still apply.
  • Employers and applicants talk to each other directly by phone or WhatsApp.

How do I get started?

If you are looking for work, open your district's page on the website or browse all jobs. For a personalised feed and the government job listings, get the Android app.

If you are hiring, sign in and post a job.

If you have a question, or want to report a job that does not look right, use the contact page.
