How to Track Tamil Nadu Government Job Notifications and Apply Before the Last Date

Use the Govt Jobs switch in the Tamizha Jobs app to see Tamil Nadu government notifications with their last dates, then apply early on the official website.

A Tamil Nadu government job usually comes with a fixed window to apply. The recruitment board publishes a notification, the online application opens, and on the last date it closes. Miss that date and you wait for the next recruitment, which can be months or years away. This guide explains how to keep track of these notifications and what to do once you find one you are eligible for.

Where are Tamil Nadu government jobs announced?

Official recruitment notifications are published by the recruiting body on its own website. In Tamil Nadu these include:

  • TNPSC (Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission), for Group exams and many department posts
  • TNUSRB (Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board), for police, jail and fire services
  • TRB (Teachers Recruitment Board), for teaching posts
  • MRB (Medical Services Recruitment Board), for health department posts
  • individual departments, district offices, courts and public sector organisations that recruit on their own

The official notification is the document that counts. It gives the exact posts, the number of vacancies, eligibility, the fee, the selection process and the dates. Newspapers, YouTube videos and WhatsApp forwards are useful for spotting a recruitment, but always confirm the details in the official notification before you act.

How can I see Tamil Nadu government jobs in the Tamizha Jobs app?

Open the Tamizha Jobs Android app and use the Local Jobs / Govt Jobs switch at the top of the job feed. Govt Jobs shows Tamil Nadu government recruitment notifications in one list, so you do not have to check many websites one by one.

Each listing shows:

  • the recruiting board and the department
  • the number of vacancies
  • the pay scale
  • the qualification required
  • the age limit
  • the district, or "All Tamil Nadu" for statewide posts
  • the application fee
  • the notification date and the last date to apply

A badge on each card shows how much time is left: for example "12 days left", "Closes tomorrow" or "Closes today". It turns amber when fewer than seven days remain, so the urgent ones stand out. Once the last date has passed, the listing shows "Applications closed".

Where a detail is not given in the listing, it reads "As per official notification". In that case, open the official notification and check.

The app is available on Android. Get it here. It works in Tamil and English, and you can switch language from the toggle at the top of the screen.

How do I apply for a government job I found in the app?

Tamizha Jobs does not take applications for government jobs. On each Govt Jobs listing there is an Apply on Official Website button that opens the recruiting body's own site. You register and apply there.

A careful way to do it:

  1. Read the official notification in full. Check the post name, the vacancies and especially the eligibility section.
  2. Check your eligibility. Look at the educational qualification, the age limit as on the date the notification gives, and any age relaxation that applies to your community or category.
  3. Prepare your documents. Usually a recent photograph and signature in the size the notification specifies, your educational certificates, your community certificate if you are claiming reservation, and an ID proof. Keep scanned copies ready before you start.
  4. Register on the official portal. Some boards, such as TNPSC, have a one-time registration you create once and reuse for later applications.
  5. Fill in the form carefully and check every field before you submit. Mistakes in your name, date of birth or community can cause problems later.
  6. Pay the fee only on the official portal, if a fee applies.
  7. Download or print your submitted application and the payment receipt, and note your application or registration number.

How do I make sure I don't miss the last date?

Do not leave it to the final day. Official websites often slow down near the deadline because thousands of people apply at once.

  • Check the Govt Jobs list regularly, say every few days. New notifications are added to it over time.
  • Act on the amber badges first. Anything with fewer than seven days left should be your priority.
  • Note the important dates from the official notification in your phone's calendar: the last date to apply, the last date to pay the fee if it is different, and the exam date.
  • Apply at least two or three days early, so you have time to fix a problem with a photo upload or a payment.

The app does not currently send a separate reminder before each last date, so a calendar note is a good habit.

Can someone get me a government job for money?

No. Government jobs in Tamil Nadu are filled through published recruitments with exams, interviews or merit lists. Anyone who offers you a government job, or a "guaranteed" selection, in return for money is cheating you.

  • Pay fees only on the official recruitment portal.
  • Do not give your login details or OTPs to agents or "consultancies".
  • Do not trust "back-door" or "direct appointment" offers that come through WhatsApp or phone calls.

If someone has asked you for money for a job, stop contact and do not pay.

What about private jobs while I prepare?

Many people work a private job while they prepare for government exams. Switch back to Local Jobs in the app, or browse the website by district, for example jobs in Chennai, jobs in Madurai or jobs in Coimbatore. Part-time jobs can fit around study time: try part-time jobs in Chennai, or change the district in the address.
